I have had the extreme fortune to be a part of various shark and ray research projects during my academic career. Through these organizations I have been able to aid in the study and conservation of shark species in Florida and around the world. I have interned with the University of Miami’s Shark Research and Conservation lab, NOAA’s Shark Population Assessment Group, Mote Marine Lab, and Havenworth Coastal Conservation. I am currently a graduate student studying habitat use of juvenile scalloped hammerhead sharks in the University of North Florida’s Shark Biology Lab.

The Everglades National Park in Florida is one of the most bio-diverse and unique places in the entire state. Here you’ll see countless alligators, a wide variety of birds, and some beautiful landscapes.
In early 2019 I was hired by the Austen Everett Foundation as a producer for one of their events. The Austen Everett Foundation helps to connect children who are battling cancer with sports teams and the child acts as the honorary head coach for a game. Lorenzo is battling Leukemia and I got to share in his special day with his family and the Miami Hurricanes baseball team.
There is a tiny world of detail in each and every thing around us. Macro photography allows us to capture and view these small worlds and revel in their beauty.
A Palm Beach County, Florida hidden gem, Green Cay is home to countless species of birds. If you’re lucky you may spot an American Alligator or a fish caught in the mouth of a Heron.
I traveled to the Galápagos Islands to study abroad my Junior year of college. I stayed on the island of Isabela for 3 months in the Fall of 2016, living with a host family. The wildlife diversity of the islands is mind-blowing and I cannot wait to return to the islands one day. The national park has very specific rules about approaching the wildlife and all photos were taken from 2 or more meters away.
Following my semester abroad in the Galápagos islands, I traveled with my friends to mainland Ecuador for a week. Here, we visited the Cotopaxi National Park, home of Volcan Cotopaxi.
As a member of the SRC team, I traveled to the Dry Tortugas National Park in the Florida Keys on a 2 week research expedition. Our goal was to sample sharks there and compare them to sharks in the Miami area. As there are very strict regulations in the park, we expected sharks to be bigger and healthier down in the park.
Every year Redbull hosts a surfing competition at Jacksonville Beach called Nightriders where under the light of shrimp boats and flood lights, surfers are towed behind jetskis to try and pull off the best tricks. Weather caused this event to be postponed in 2021, but fortunately they were able to hold the following day instead, calling it Lightriders. I brought my camera along to see what I can capture. I really enjoyed this event and am looking forward to next year!
